Bio:
Constance Elizabeth Swaniker is a master craftsperson, entrepreneur, and educationist. Her essential passions are skill development and job creation for youth, particularly females. She coined and conceptualised the practice of “Precision Quality”, a curriculum aimed at enhancing technical education and training to meet industry requirements. It combines the practice and theory needed to improve the teaching of TVET. She had her pre-university education in The Gambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Ghana, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Fine Art from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, in 1999. She is a Stanford Seed Fellow.
Constance Swaniker set up her construction firm, Accents & Art (A&A), in 2000 and has trained numerous university students, craftsmen and women in the informal sector. She established the Design & Technology Institute (DTI) in 2016 to bridge the academia-industry divide.
Constance has exhibited her works in Africa (Ghana, Nigeria) and Europe (Paris) and won numerous local and international awards. She is a dedicated mother of two (2) who aspires to leave a positive mark on society and inspire the youth to live their dreams no matter the challenges. She is currently the President of the DTI and the CEO of A&A.
