Title and Organization:
Director of Programmes, Anglican Diocese of Accra
Bio:
Rev’d Akua Ofori-Boateng is the Director of Programmes for the Anglican Diocese of Accra. She is a member of the United States Trade Advisory Committee on Africa, and serves as a member on the Board of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF). Akua is also the co-founder and Executive Director of Aequitas (pronounced Equitas); a faith-based foundation which has a vision to become the leading NGO in Africa, where organisations can source young tertiary graduates who have been moulded into self-aware, passionate, and fit for purpose youth through personalised grooming and training. Akua is a graduate of Ghana International School (GIS) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics from Miami University in the USA; a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in the USA; an MBA from Indiana University in the USA; and a Master of Arts degree in Ministry from the Trinity Theological Seminary in Legon, Ghana. Rev’d Akua’s book; Broken for Use, is a deeply moving personal and spiritual memoir which has been touted as a ‘must read’ by the likes of Elizabeth Ohene, Professor Mercy Oduyoye, and Reverend Dr. Joyce Aryee. In it, she demonstrates that despite our brokenness, the goodness of God can still shine through us.
