Paul Ramirez is the Chief Leadership Officer for the Freire Schools charter network in Philadelphia and Delaware. There he supervises school principals, leads the people operations, recruitment, and technology teams, and develops leaders across the network. Previously he was the founding head of school for five years at Freire Charter School Wilmington which opened in 2015 and serves five hundred students in grades 8-12. During that time, Paul was awarded the Delaware Charter Schools Network's 2020 Impact Award for charter school principals, and in 2017 was awarded Teach for America Delaware's Excellence in School Leadership Award. Paul began his career teaching as a Teach for America corps member at Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, Delaware. There, he was English Department Chair and named Teacher of the Year. Paul holds a bachelor's degree in literature from Yale University and a master's degree in teaching from Wilmington University.
