Bio:
Jonathan J. Lopez joined City Year Los Angeles in 2012 and serves as the Managing Director, Impact. In this role he collaborates with district partners and school administrators at more than thirty schools across the Los Angeles Unified School District to reinforce the value-add of the organization's Whole School Whole Child Service Model. Jonathan also works with colleagues on the state and federal levels to lead the largest AmeriCorps program in the state of California. Prior to working at City Year, Jonathan was the Assistant Principal at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, a Title 1 Academic Achievement and California Distinguished School. Jonathan received his MA in Education from Loyola Marymount University while serving as a Teach For America corps member and his BA in Political Science and Spanish from The College of the Holy Cross. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. As a proud husband, father, brother, and son, Jonathan believes deeply in the obligation all members of our society have to live lives that generate equity for all.
