Title and Organization:
Founding Partner, Include Ventures
Bio:
Bahiyah is a recognized thought leader and entrepreneur in the asset management space around JEDI + Gender, focused on impact and sustainability. She has spent over 15 years in philanthropy, impact investing, and building new platforms to drive deeper gender, global impact and diverse representation in capital markets. She is passionate about building new pathways to drive alpha in the alternative asset management industry, particularly through impact investing. The INCLUDE seeding platform was launched in 2018 to build infrastructure to drive sustainability and integrity around environmental and social governance, with equity and inclusion embedded in the model. VC Include has gone on to support firms with $4B of targeted AUM, led by women and diverse asset managers building institutional grade asset management firms to generate new alpha. Their best in class training and education fellowship has graduated 22 PE + VC firms since 2021 who have raised North of $320M and counting. Their Climate Justice Initiative is the first of its kind to provide working capital to historically underrepresented fund managers in the U.S. and Europe, which was announced on Earth Day 2022. Anchored by her long-term, holistic market building strategy, Bahiyah is the Founding Partner of Include Ventures, an institutional grade asset management firm which launched a Fund of Funds and DIV in late 2021 that invests at the intersection of Alpha + Impact + Inclusion. Their investment strategy is focused on climate/cleantech, edtech, health + wellness, financial inclusion and media and is driven by long term relationships with firms across the capital stack. INCLUDE has been an advisor to the Hewlett Foundation, The Climate Finance Fund, NYCEDC, and British International Investment’s 2X collective (formerly Gender Smart). The seeding platform is fiscally supported by premier foundations, family offices and corporations including the VISA Foundation, The Skoll Foundation, Blue Haven Initiative, The MacArthur Foundation, NASDAQ, The Nathan Cummings Foundation, and the Compton Foundation. Bahiyah is a member of the Ceres President's Council and a Bloomberg New Voices Fellow whose firms have been featured in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Responsible Investor Magazine, Institutional Investor Magazine, Crunchbase, Techcrunch, Impact Alpha, Entrepreneur Magazine, Bloomberg, Yahoo News, Cheddar, CNN and Forbes. She has spoken at The Financial Times, LG Nova, SOCAP, Toniic, CAIA, The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, The National Urban League, The SEC and CAIA, to name a few.
