Bio:
Dianne Sandoval is the head of Markets, Asset Classes and Portfolio Strategies at the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Saudi Arabia, Public Investment Fund. She is responsible for designing and implementing the strategic and dynamic asset allocation processes, and measuring the efficacy of investment decisions and processes through performance attribution. Prior to joining PIF, Dianne spent 12 years at the largest US pension fund, California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). She was a senior member of the Trust Level Portfolio Management (TLPM) team responsible for the planning and implementation of the strategic and dynamic asset allocation of the fund’s approximate $470 billion in investment assets. Dianne also led the research, analytics, performance and risk team for CalPERS $39bn private equity portfolio. She played a leading role in the design and implementation of the first internally managed high yield portfolio. Prior to joining CalPERS, Dianne worked in High Yield/Distressed Debt Sales and Trading at Morgan Stanley for four years in London. She worked for six years in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and structured credit at JP Morgan, both in New York and in Mexico City. Commitment to civic leadership in finance is an integral part of Dianne’s beliefs. In 2000, Dianne was a key member of a team that worked with Cemex to design a new product offering from concept to pilot to launch called Patrimonio Hoy, helping low-income families build dignified homes. Patrimonio Hoy received a World Business Award from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Business Leader's Forum (IBLF), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In 2008, Dianne was a co-founder of Latinos in Finance based out of San Francisco. In 2016, Dianne was the founder of CalPERS Women Investment Network. From 2008 to 2020, Dianne served in numerous roles as a board member, president, and secretary at the CFA Society in Sacramento. Each of these organizations strived to strengthen their members career progression in finance through connectivity, education, and community service. Dianne has a Bachelor of Science degree from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business with a concentration in finance and accounting. She completed her MBA at IESE in Barcelona, Spain. She holds the designation of a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.
