Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn is chief executive officer of EPF, the largest Malaysian retirement fund. He was previously group chief executive of PNB, the largest asset management company in Malaysia. Prior to PNB, he was deputy managing director of Khazanah, Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, where he held various position including head of strategy, head of the strategic fund, and head of the financial institutions group. Zul was the founding CEO of a financial guarantee insurer which provided credit enhancement and structuring for large infrastructure projects. He has had various roles in institutions leading debt restructuring and resolutions in the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis. Zul has sat on several boards, including the boards of CIMB Group, a regional Southeast Asian bank, and Malaysia Aviation Group, the national airline. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University.
