Bio:
Sherine Ebadi is currently a managing director with the Forensic Investigations and Intelligence practice of Kroll in Los Angeles. She is a financial crimes expert with more than 15 years of experience leading investigations into all manner of fraud and misconduct.
Prior to joining Kroll, Sherine spent just over 10 years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”) as a special agent where she successfully investigated and helped prosecute several high-profile cases involving complex financial crimes, money laundering, embezzlement, investment fraud, securities fraud, market manipulation schemes, public corruption, and organized crime.
In her current role, Sherine serves as both a member of the firm’s leadership team and an expert practitioner. Internally, she is responsible for creating and executing on strategic directives for the business unit, developing and implementing training programs for firm personnel, and mentoring and advising staff in North America. She co-founded the firm’s litigation consulting service and business development academy. Sherine also sits on the pro bono committee, women’s network, and DEIB council. Externally, is responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships, representing the firm in the media and at industry events, and executing on client engagements.
Outside of her professional life, in 2015, Sherine co-founded the non-profit organization The Healthy Room Project (“HRP”). HRP strives to address the negative impact caused by the lack of suitable housing conditions on the well-being and development of children in inner-city communities by creating safe, secure, comfortable, and personalized bedrooms. This organization has grown to 16 cities across the US and envisions expanding further to reach our goal of serving 100,000 children by the year 2034.
Sherine holds a bachelor of arts degree (magna cum laude) from the University of California, San Diego in history and is an alumni of the Aspen Institute’s Executive Leadership Program. She graduated valedictorian of her FBI Academy class and was awarded the FBI Medal of Excellence, FBI Excellent Performance Award, and multiple U.S. Attorney’s Awards during her career in public service. In 2021, Sherine was named to Global Investigation Review’s top 100 Women in Investigations and in 2024, she was named to Marquis’ Who’s Who in America.
