Mario Marte is non-executive director and audit committee chair of Best Buy and FIGS, publicly traded, industry-leading US-based companies specializing in the consumer electronics and healthcare apparel industries, respectively. He is also non-executive director of Pet Circle, a privately held e-commerce company based in Australia. Mario retired in July 2023 from Chewy, the world’s largest pure play retailer of pet products and services, where he served as vice president of finance then Chief Financial Officer over eight years, leading the company through a hypergrowth period from $250 million to over $11 billion in annual sales and a successful IPO. Prior to joining Chewy, Mario served as vice president of global fp&a for Hilton Worldwide, and prior to that he worked at American Airlines in various leadership roles. Mario is committed to the arts and progressive education and their positive effect on society having served as a trustee of the Dallas Opera in Dallas, and the Blue Oak School in Napa. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the University of South Florida, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Mario is a Fellow of the seventh class of the Finance Leadership Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
