Bio:
Betty NG is the Founder and Director of COLLECTIVE (COLLECTIVE studio), an international architecture firm headquartered in Hong Kong with teams in London, Madrid, Perth and Los Angeles. Betty co-leads the studio’s design direction and manages the overall operations of the practice. A Registered Architect in the Netherlands, a RIBA Chartered Architect, and an International Associate member of the AIA, Betty holds degrees from Harvard and Cornell University. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with previous teaching roles at the National University of Singapore and the University of Hong Kong. Before establishing COLLECTIVE, she was Design Director at OMA Rotterdam, collaborating with Rem Koolhaas on major projects like the Axel Springer Media Headquarters and the West Kowloon Cultural District Master Plan. Betty’s extensive experience includes stints at Herzog & de Meuron and Massimiliano Fuksas, and she has contributed to projects across multiple continents. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Hong Kong Chapter and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Hong Kong Chapter. Betty NG is a Fellow of the 2024 Class of the Aspen Institute’s China Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
