Bio:
Rashida Jones is an accomplished business leader with an illustrious career spanning journalism and media leadership. Most recently, Rashida served as president of MSNBC, overseeing a multiplatform operation—including television, digital, streaming, and film. Under her leadership, MSNBC achieved record-breaking viewership growth and consistently ranked as the second most-watched cable network, all while driving transformative operational success.
Throughout her career, Rashida has earned numerous awards and accolades for her outstanding contributions. These include the 2019 induction into the Scripps Howard Journalism School Hall of Fame at Hampton University and multiple Emmy awards, such as those for the 2016 Donald Trump Town Hall Interview and the 2013 SCOTUS Same-Sex Marriage Decision. Other notable honors include the 2023 RTDNA Leonard Zeidenberg First Amendment Award, the 2023 Alliance for Women in Media’s Gracies Leadership Award, and the 2022 New York National Urban League Frederick Douglass Leadership Award.
Rashida holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts and an MBA from Hampton University and is an active member of organizations such as the Economic Club of New York, YPO, the Executive Leadership Council. Rashida is a 2025 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
