Songe LaRon is the Co-Founder and CEO of SQUIRE Technologies, the leading all-in-one barbershop management platform. Founded in 2015, SQUIRE pioneered a new software category—barbershop business management—to streamline operations and provide barbers and shop owners with the essential tools to run their businesses. Today, SQUIRE powers over 32,000 barbers, with 10 million clients booking appointments through the platform.
LaRon began his career as a corporate lawyer but felt drawn to a mission that would create lasting wealth and impact in his community. He recognized the vital role barbershops play in communities and saw an opportunity to help them operate more efficiently and profitably. With this vision, he set out to build a platform that would revolutionize the industry.
Teaming up with Co-Founder and President Dave Salvant, LaRon has led SQUIRE through remarkable growth. The company’s valuation soared to $750 million after a Series D funding round led by Tiger Global, marking a 30x increase in just two years. As CEO, he focuses on innovation and strategic direction, ensuring that SQUIRE remains at the forefront of transforming one of the world’s oldest professions.
While LaRon takes pride in SQUIRE’s rapid success, he is most fulfilled by the company’s deeper mission—elevating barbershops and recognizing their significance in communities. His goal is not just to build a great business but to leave a lasting impact.
