Allen Smith is the President/CEO of OneSpartanburg, Inc, one of America's only consolidated business, economic, talent, and tourism development organizations. In 2021, the organization was named the US Chamber of the Year.
From 2014 to 2024, OneSpartanburg, Inc. recruited $12.9B in new investment and 18,438 new jobs through 254 projects – a South Carolina record run. Small and minority businesses have flourished under “Power Up Spartanburg,” the organization's countywide small and minority business development initiative. In less than a year, 1,982 small businesses have been engaged, 177 jobs created, and $8.7M in contracts secured. In three years, the organization secured $73.5M in earmarks, a community record, to support a variety of economic development and quality of place projects.
Adding 29 new residents a day, Spartanburg is one of the fastest growing communities in the United States.
Allen and his wife, Jenni, are proud and exhausted parents of Eloise (7) and Mary Barrett (5). When not working, Allen can be found running with his world famous (or infamous) running club or enjoying the sights, sounds, and tastes of Spartanburg, SC.
