Nolan Watson is the Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Sandstorm Gold Royalties, a multi-billion-dollar company listed on the NYSE and ranked among the 200 largest public companies in Canada by market capitalization. He is also the Founder and CEO of Nations Cry, a charitable organization that operates a secondary school for 700 underprivileged children in Sierra Leone; recognized as one of the top academic institutions in the country.
Nolan serves on the Board of Directors of the World Gold Council as chairman of the audit committee and is a member of its Gold 247 committee, which, in collaboration with the London Bullion Market Association, is working to modernize the global system for gold trading, tracking, and storage.
Before founding Sandstorm, Nolan was the Chief Financial Officer of Wheaton Precious Metals, one of the world's largest precious metals companies. At the time, he was the youngest CFO of any multi-billion-dollar NYSE-listed company.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of British Columbia, is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) with the CPAs of British Columbia, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
Nolan has received numerous recognitions and awards, including:
