Shmuel Chafets is Founder and Partner of Target Global, a leading European technology investment firm managing over €3 billion in assets. He also serves as Chairman of TravelPerk, a global business travel platform that has transformed corporate travel management and achieved unicorn status, now serving over 20,000 businesses worldwide. Throughout his distinguished career as an investor, Shmuel has invested in over 60 companies across SaaS, B2C, and Fintech sectors. His notable investments at Target Global include Auto1 Group (FSE: AG1), which has become one of Europe's largest used car marketplaces; Patient 21, an innovative healthcare technology company; and Fresha, a leading beauty and wellness platform. His investment portfolio includes several successful exits, including Cybellum (acquired by LG), Zooz (acquired by PayU), and iZettle (acquired by PayPal for $2.2 billion). As an entrepreneur, Shmuel is Chairman and co-founder of The Vets, an innovative home veterinary care business. He previously co-founded LocaLoco in the gaming sector (acquired by Say Media Group) and Securing SAM in cybersecurity. Before founding Target Global, he served as a Partner at Berlin-based Hasso Plattner Ventures and began his venture capital career as a Partner at Giza Venture Capital, where he co-founded GPV, a pioneer investor in the CEE region. Target Global, established in 2015, has grown into one of Europe’s largest and most successful technology investment firms under Shmuel’s leadership. It maintains strategic offices across London, Berlin and Tel Aviv with a portfolio exceeding 140 investments including some of Europe's most successful technology companies such as Revolut, Copper, Delivery Hero, Docplanner, Rapyd, and Flo Health. Shmuel began his professional career as a strategic and media consultant for the Israeli parliament and government. His contributions to Israel extend beyond business to board service with the Tel Aviv Opera and initiatives advancing AI adoption in Israel's public sector, reflecting his commitment to Israel as both a cultural center and technological leader.
