Bio:
Mark is a serial cross-industry entrepreneur, having co-founded companies in material science, satellite communications, software, bioscience, energy/environment, and aerospace. Most recently, Mark founded and is CEO of Radia, Inc. Radia is building global energy projects using GigaWind. Previously, Mark founded BioScale, which is transforming chronic disease management through novel bioclinical analytics and digital health technologies. Prior to BioScale, Mark co-founded Active Control eXperts, Inc. (CYMI), which made piezoelectric systems to control vibrations. Mark also founded wireless software provider Ripcord Systems (SoftBank). He was on the start-up team at Teledesic, building the world's first satellite- based global broadband internet, and worked at NASA/JPL and Boeing. Mark served on the Board of Directors of MIT and today he serves on the advisory board of the Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mark is a former ski racer and pilot and has sixteen patents. Mark earned his Economics MPhil from Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar, and an MBA from MIT's Sloan School as a Leaders for Manufacturing Fellow. He earned BS/MS in Aero/Astro from MIT. He is a 2013 Henry Crown Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
