Bio:
Mark Sass is a high school history teacher in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. In 2000, he was part of the leadership team that helped open Legacy High School. He has been instrumental in bringing Professional Learning Communities to Legacy and the district; he facilitated the implementation of standards-based grading at the district level. Mark has been involved in educational reform throughout Colorado. Mark was a National Fellow for the Hope Street Group a national organization advocating for the advancement of the teaching profession. He was also named one of the 2010 "best of" education reformers in Colorado by Education Reform Now. Mark was a U.S. Department of Education Teacher Ambassador Fellow under Arnie Duncan and John King. He was a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Pahara Aspen Teacher-Leader Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Mark leads Teach Plus Colorado's policy fellowship working with teachers from across the state to ensure teachers are driving K-12 policy.
