Essie Anno Sackey is Managing Director and a shareholder of PHI Century Ltd. PHI Century provides helicopters services in West Africa to the Oil and Gas industry. Essie is also a co-founder of Legacy Girls College, the first private all girls college in Ghana. The college was started in 2015 with 13 girls and has a current enrolment of 120 girls. The mission of the college is to nurture the immense potential of the girls to be whatever they want to be in a fast changing world, understanding their rights and responsibilities and playing their central role in national development. Prior to these she was the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company with responsibility for development and operations of all airports and aerodromes in Ghana. Before working at Ghana Airports Company, she worked as the Country Manager of British Airways Plc in Accra. Essie and her husband Sammy, also own and operate a Tissue Culture facility, using micropropagation methods to produce plantain and banana seedlings for farmers. Essie holds a BA in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and an MBA from Brigham Young University. She is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-Ghana and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
