Bio:
Vuyani Ngalwana is a barrister at the firm Fountain Chambers. He was previously pension fund adjudicator for the government of South Africa, and before that he was deputy director of the Asset Forfeiture United. As a member of the Cape Bar Council, he was treasurer for a year, a founding member of Advocates for Transformation, a member of the Pension Lawyers Association, and chairman of the Special Board for Hearing Income Tax Appeals. He holds a bachelor of arts, a bachelor of laws, a postgraduate diploma in tax law, and a master of laws in income tax, all at the University of Cape Town. He schooled at various Gugulethu schools from Xolani Lower Primary to Intshinga Higher Primary and then Langa High School before crossing the railway line in 1985 to Rondebosch. He grew up in Gugulethu, Cape Town. He is a Fellow of the third class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
