Title and Organization:
Ana Catauta is a young professional with significant experience in the field of political communication, public policy programs, public relations and public communication for the last ten years. Since 2012, she is Executive director at the National Development Committee, a NGO dedicated to monitoring public policy implementation, and founding member of the Social Progress Institute, a progressive Romanian debate platform. Moreover, Ana is the Managing Partner of New Machiavelli Communications Company, focusing on political risk, governmental affairs, and political and corporate communication. Ana is also consultant of the World Bank, Romania office. In this capacity, she coordinates the institutional and public communication of a program conducted in cooperation with the Romanian Government. In the past, she contributed to the implementation and communication of the Gateway Project, a public-private governmental initiative, whose purpose was to develop practical economic and commercial projects meant to contribute to the development of the Romanian economy. Moreover, for two years, between January 2010 and November 2011, at the age of 25, she served as chief of staff and Policy Unit coordinator for the President of the Romanian Senate, for two years as advisor on communication issues and communication and media advisor for the President of the Social Democratic Party in Romania, between 2006 and 2010. In 2009, Ana was part of the coordinating team during the presidential campaign of Mircea Geoana (Social Democratic Party). Ana Catauta is a 2010 Aspen Young Leaders Program Fellow and coordinated, for the last 5 years, the national and international PR and strategic communication for the Bucharest Forum. Ana is committed to promote good governance values and women rights in Romania, and in the wider region of Eastern Europe.
