Title and Organization:
Gabrielle Wyatt currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer at Civic Builders. In this role, she focuses on communications, strategic planning and operations. Gabrielle leads the daily operations of the Building Equity Initiative, an innovative partnership with the Walton Family Foundation. Prior to joining Civic Builders, Gabrielle was the Executive Director of Strategy for Newark Public Schools. In this role, Gabrielle led the strategic planning and implementation of universal enrollment, portfolio strategy, and financial strategy. Previously, Gabrielle was an Associate Director of Portfolio Planning at the NYCDOE, where she managed the planning and implementation of performance-based school changes for school districts in Brooklyn. A Baltimore native, Gabrielle was an Abell Foundation Graduate Fellow for Baltimore City Public Schools. Gabrielle is a 2015 Pahara NextGen Leader, a program of the Aspen Institute. Gabrielle previously served as a member of the Baltimore County Public Schools Board of Education; a member of the Achievement Initiative for Maryland Minority Students Steering Committee; and the Chair for the Black Policy Conference at the Harvard Kennedy School. Gabrielle has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
