Bio:
Marcela Silva is an entrepreneur and investor born in Nicaragua. She’s a shareholder and director in companies in the retail, real estate, advertising and finance industry. She’s the founder and president of FID, a fintech company that provides financial solutions through a network of affiliates. She has over 15 years of experience in the retail industry, with an expertise in corporate strategy, venture capital investment, marketing, branding, and project development. She has a passion for creating small businesses and providing them with the tools to grow and succeed. In 2017 she co founded SEVEN, a creative company that offers a combination of strategy, design, technology and advertising services. In 2014 she started the Silva Foundation, which promotes sustainability, training and entrepreneurial development for small businesses. Marcela recently joined the board of a local school in Nicaragua and is very excited to learn about the country’s educational system. She has a passion for gardening, travel and experiencing new cultures. She earned her master’s degree in Business Administration from INCAE and her bachelor’s degree in International Relations from St. Mary’s University. Marcela is a Fellow of the thirteenth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
