Claudia Neira is the founder and executive director of Crea Comunicaciones. At Crea, she heads a multidisciplinary team that provides services for public relations, public affairs, and strategic communications consulting. Prior to founding Crea Communications, she worked in the Office of External Relations of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC where she worked with communication projects in the region. On her return to Nicaragua in 2004, she worked to design and implement a communication strategy for the administration of President Enrique Bolaños. In the late '90s, she worked as an editor in the newspaper La Tribuna and earlier in Barricada. Claudia has been a mentor of Vital Voices, an initiative that Crea Communications has regularly supported. She has a BA in communication sciences with an emphasis in print media from the Universidad Centroamericana in Managua, Nicaragua and a masters in journalism with an emphasis on public relations from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She is a Fellow of the fifth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
