Eric Lavin is the founding manager of Aspen Ventures at the Aspen Institute, which connects social entrepreneurs to Aspen Institute resources. Programs under Eric's management include: the Braddock Scholars Program and the DC Urban Innovation Lab. Eric joins the Institute after serving as the CEO of Whetstone Education, an education technology company he co-founded in New Orleans in 2013. Prior to that he worked as Strategy Analyst at Next Street, a merchant bank providing capital and advisory services to small businesses and nonprofits in low-moderate income neighborhoods in New York City. Previous to that he was a high school teacher in Helena, AR as a Teach for America corps member. Eric graduated from Tulane University with a degree in International Political Economy with coursework at the London School of Economics and Oxford.
