AGLN Vision Focus Groups
Would you like to share your perspective on the promise and direction of the AGLN?

Please sign up here for one of the two focus groups provided during the AGLN Collaboratory time at the Resnick Aspen Action Forum on Monday (8/24) and Wednesday (8/26), from 12:00-1:30pm ET. These focus groups will be capped at 20 Fellows, on a first come first served basis.

The AGLN is currently conducting a strategic landscape review of the network with input from Fellows, Moderators, Fellowship Directors, and supporters.  Our purpose is to hear stakeholders’ perspectives on the promise and direction of the AGLN for the years ahead, and to identify strengths and opportunities for our Fellowship programs and the AGLN, as well as any barriers to success that you feel need to be addressed.

We are conducting this review at this time because our leadership programs, which are deeply valued by the Aspen Institute, have reached an inflection point. In recent years, we have grown quickly, built new programs available to all Fellows, grown our moderator corps, restructured our Leadership Division, and experienced leadership transitions. Now is an ideal time to take stock of what we have learned and where we must focus to build the strength, sustainability, impact and coherence of our offerings. By listening to the hopes, ideas, and expectations of people who care deeply about the leadership programs and AGLN, we will be better able to address our weaknesses and take the necessary steps to strengthen both the 14 fellowship programs and the AGLN fellowship network for years to come.  These insights also will help us define and shape the role of the next leader for the AGLN and ensure effective support for the programs.

This AGLN landscape review is being sponsored by Dan Porterfield, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute; Margot Pritzker, Chair of the Leadership Committee of the Board of Trustees; and David Langstaff, EVP of the Leadership Division. It will be conducted by Don Edwards, Laura Gramling and their colleagues at Justice & Sustainability Associates (JSA).  JSA is skilled in undertaking this kind of review.  They are superb listeners and synthesizers and have no pre-existing views about the AGLN.

We expect that we will hear a wide range of suggestions, and we are open to new ideas and approaches consistent with, of course, our commitment to values-based leadership and service to society. We plan to report out major findings to the full AGLN and will utilize the input we receive to develop a clear statement of our strategic direction and goals for the next five years.

In advance, we thank you for signing up here to provide your input. One thing we know for sure is that values-based leadership is needed now more than ever.
